Week Six

Oakleigh's surgery went well! She tolerated everything well and is healing quickly! They placed her G-tube (feeding tube) on Monday at around 12:30p and she was back in the room with us around 1:30p. She had to fast for 6 hours after surgery to allow things to start working again and then they began giving her small amounts until they saw that she was tolerating it well.  She was a champ! She has been dealing with reflux, which was an issue before surgery as well.  They are trying different things to see if they can get it under control and keep more in her belly.   Oakleigh has grown and is finally 4lbs 2oz! Still so tiny but she keeps growing! We still don't have a diagnosis and will have quite a few follow up appointments after discharge.  We ask for prayer for us and wisdom as we navigate all of those things.  This has been a journey but God is faithful! We have seen Him working many times.  In order to come home, they are working on what feeding regimen will keep her growing and not upset her tummy too much as well as passing a carseat test.  She will have to sit in a carseat for 2 hours and not have dips in heart rate or oxygen.  We would appreciate prayers for that as well!  We don't have a date for discharge yet but we are getting closer! Thank you all once again for your texts, prayers, and encouragement! We are truly blessed to be a part of the community, church, and family we are.

Prayer Requests:

Car seat test/study

Follow up appointments

Acid Reflux

Continued health for all of us

Adjusting to home when that time comes

Oakleigh just had a sponge bath and we put her little sister sleeper on!

Her hands have what they call contractures so she wears splints (the little blue things on her hands).  Her fingers were tight in a fist and her wrists bent downward.  The splints have helped significantly!

Snuggles the day after surgery!

Snuggles before surgery!
